Moray Baby Bank accepts donations of used and new baby clothes, toys, prams, push chairs, high chairs, cots, moses baskets and other items in the age group from birth to 2 years old. We wash and clean every single item and check everything over to ensure it is both safe and hygienic. We work with various referral agencies in the Moray area, midwives, health visitors, social workers and crisis aid departments.
When these agencies identify a family in financial distress who cannot afford the essentials for their baby, they suggest the Moray Baby Bank to them as a way of obtaining the essentials they would need. If the family want our help, the referral agency completes a referral form which we provide, listing all the baby items available. The form identifies to us what specific items that family needs. When we receive the form we package up the items ticked on the form and deliver them to the family. Should we not have stock of a particular item, we take note of any discrepancies and do our best to provide it when it becomes available.
The main benefits of the Moray Baby Bank will be:
- Improved living conditions for babies from birth to 2 years old.
- Reduced financial burden for families.
- Improved mental health in vulnerable people.
- Allowing parents to focus on other aspects of their home life rather than financial problems.
